Step 38 - My Daughter/ Editor
It’s a tough business, this publishing. But if you truly want to be successful, you need a child's approval to really make it.
That's where my kids come in. Their keen eyes pick up things that my older ones have obviously given up looking for. I couldn't do this without them, and they let me know about it!

Step 36 - HNY 26 and The Screen
Happy New Year everyone! Since releasing my first book way back in 2022 I set myself a goal to release 1 new book every year. But after my illustrator went missing in 2025 I had to roll up the sleeves and do it myself. And with 5 hours to spare I released The Screen.
Its an imaginary children's story written in rhyme teaching kids why you shouldn't spend too much time on devices.

Guess who's back, back again. Ok that's about all I can quote Eminem before it verges on copyright infringement.
In every great story the hero must eventually stumble to make his ultimate success feel more earned and rewarding. In my case it was more like dropping into a cavern and having to dig my way out through piles of work and self doubt. It took a while but I think I can finally see the sunlight again.

We watched the original trilogy, I had to explain a bit as we went, but I think there was enough of a spark there to give me hope that a couple of budding young padawans may just have taken their first steps into galactic nerdom.

My voice is gone but my irregularly posted media content certainly isn't. Deadpool and Wolverine is a brilliantly fun and funny re-introduction to 2 of my favourite characters with some great action, dialogue and cameos.
The saddest part was seeing the credits roll and knowing it was over. Very much the same as my own comedic style and writing, just infinitely more successful.
