Walked uphill with a few buddy’s for about 10 hours, camped in a snow cave at -20 because I forgot our tent.. woke up at around 3am to walk for a few more hours.. all for 20 seconds that will be burned into my brain for the rest of my life.. We just dropped our fully foot powered film from last winter! Link is in @bigmountainnn ‘s Bio to go check it out! Much love to everyone involved ❤️

Went for a long walk to check out the mayor of Hog Town last week. The north face of James Turner is one of the most inspiring faces I’ve stood beneath. Didn’t get a shot at what we’d hoped, but Ry Pow, Ethan and I had the pleasure of riding a line onto the Chaos Glacier, on the potentially virgin north panel of JT’s east ridge, plus another on the west ridge with DN & the crew. More about the adventure will be shared in a long-form piece next fall 🫡 In the meantime, here are a few highlights: Slide 1 – Nearing the top of our line off the west ridge Slide 2 – Our line on the west ridge Slide 3 – Riding off the west ridge Slide 4 – Watching sunset at our camp

First Descent - North Face Direct - The Dalton Dome Snowboarded down a line that I believe to be a first descent on the North Face of the Dalton Dome last Wednesday. It starts on the summit and takes a direct line into the classic North Couloir. Glacial recession has made this line look more appealing over the years, as just a few years ago the rappel would have been free-hanging over a large serac. It was nearly possible to ride through with no rappel on my descent, but a 30-foot section of ice before a 10-foot cliff made a short rappel feel logical. I could see an ice bulge when looking at the line and had thought I would be able to do a V-thread to rappel. Actually getting close to the bulge and to good ice proved challenging, so I pivoted to building a rock anchor with a horn and a few pins in some decomposing choss that was frozen together. Stoked to get this one in epic condition top to bottom! I wouldn’t be surprised if this one fills in enough to go without a rappel in a fat year. The descent was the highlight and part of a greater effort that you can read about in my last post. Slide 1 - The line Slide 2 - Above the serac - photo by Ry Slide 3 - Riding in Slide 4 - Riding in Slide 5- Rappeling Slide 6- A few moments spent in a wild location More from this adventure and from other trips up into this area will feature in a West Coast Classics ep. dropping next fall.

I turned 31 today and decided to close out my 30th year with a trip into Garibaldi Park. I’ve always wanted to link up Garibaldi, Atwell, and the Dalton Dome, so I took a stab at it yesterday. I left my high camp at 11:00 pm and topped out on Garibaldi at 2:22 am. From there, I downclimbed onto the glacial plateau that separates the three summits and pushed over to the north ridge of Atwell. I reached the summit ridgeline around 5 am, but decided to turn around, traversing the summit ridgeline looked like more than I was in for. After downclimbing a bit, I got into position to ride the line pictured above. After riding the line, I booted back up to the plateau and topped out on the Dalton Dome. I hung around for a bit until Ry, DN, and Delaney linked up with me, and then rode another line down the north face of the Dalton Dome straight back to camp. I’ll share more about Dalton in another post.
