Still coming down from this weekend and damn, what a journey it was. As the adrenaline settles, I’m left with a deep sense of gratitude. Not just for the good moments, but for the challenges too.
Planning this event, keeping it flowing, and holding space for everyone demanded everything of me. Even in those moments of anger, I had to leave space for everyone. I only jumped four times the entire weekend...I'm satisfied with that.
The love that poured in was humbling. If you know me, you know I don't do that shit. I’m not one for the spotlight. But this weekend opened me up. It reminded me that vulnerability, connection, and community is what elevates this sport beyond jumping from a plane.
There are all kinds of skydivers. Some chase progression, others chase pure fun. Sometimes those paths clash. But not here. This weekend, we all aligned around something bigger: community.
It allowed many of us to be our purest selves. Without judgement, without pandering, without shame. It allowed freedom.
At its core, that's what @freshheiradventures is about. 🪂✊🏿🪂✊🏿🪂✊🏿
This past weekend I took part in organizing another @freshheiradventures boogie. It's always dope to see how this group of black skydivers is growing. This year was bigger than last year and for sure the next one will be as well.
