Teacher appreciation week at WRES was one for the books! Our staff traveled through the decades during our decade-themed spirit week while enjoying thoughtful treats and surprises from our PTA and school community all week long!

Last night our students took the stage to celebrate the many cultures that make our school community so special! They shared traditions from around the world and showed what makes our community so unique!
We had the incredible honor of welcoming bestselling author Katherine Applegate, who inspired our students with stories about her life, her writing journey, and introduced us to her newest book, The Littlest Elephant!

Today we welcomed firefighters from the Alexandria Fire Department to read with our kindergarten and first grade Roadrunners! Thank you to our local heroes for keeping our community safe and for making reading such a fun adventure!

Special shout out to our SCA who hosted a flower sale where students had the opportunity to purchase a flower for a friend. Today, these flowers were hand delivered spreading smiles and surprises throughout the building!
Ramsay Roadrunners made a splash over the past two weeks! Our 4th graders participated in the S.P.L.A.S.H program, a partnership between ACPS and the City of Alexandria RPCA, learning essential water safety and foundational swimming skills! We are so proud of their growth and confidence in the pool!

Our 3rd graders took their addition practice to the next level today! Students teamed up to solve 3- digit addition problems, then used their coding skills to navigate @sphero across a math maze! 🧩🚀
