AW&F Album # 7 “The Last of the Outdoor Kids” is out now anywhere music is streamed!
We recorded the bulk of this album at Meadowood Sound with
@willharrisaudio engineering and mixing. Almost all of the songs were recorded live with the band playing in the room together, vocals live too
I sing, play electric and acoustic guitars, synth, organ, mellotron, drums, percussion
@shire_plucker cowrote 3 songs with me, coproduced the whole album with me, engineered 3 songs, sings harmonies, plays electric and acoustic guitars, lap steel guitar, harmonica, electric piano, mandolin, bass, dobro, percussion, harmonium. With regular sized heads and slightly large ears, Sam and I navigated producing this record together with the enthusiasm of kids in a guitar store. In our heads it’s still 1971, and you should listen to this album straight through.
@sara_rachelle_rdn sings harmonies and played some percussion. This was the first time we sang harmonies on a record together live “eyeball to eyeball” and she blew it out of the water every time
@josephpess plays drums, holds it all together, doing so much to consistently give the songs the right feel, while making it seem easy (hey
@drumeoofficial , you might wanna check out “I Don’t Wanna Live In This World”)
@jessekesse plays piano, and is the sprinkles, whipped cream, and cherry on top of the album
@abaine93 plays bass, crafting beautifully melodic bass lines all over the album (check out “It’s Not Funny Yet”!)
@schuster.wayne played sax on “Virginia Slim” like it was a cold winter in 1971 and the only cure was Bobby Keys
@pigeon_collector clapped her hands on “Captain” and provided tea, sympathy, and perfect vibes
@patcupplesmusic and I had a blind songwriting date two years ago, we strummed our Gretsch Tennesseans, emerging victoriously with the album’s closing song “Hope All Is Well”
Much love to all who take a listen ✌️❤️ #andrewweissandfriends #powerpopicana #longisland #newyork
