We're back!!!💪🏾🫶🏾
Join us next Wednesday, May 20th at
@missevasdetroit for the May edition of Roots & Rhythm by
@theculinarygriot — an evening celebrating Black diaspora films, food, culture, and storytelling.
Last month we laughed, connected, and played games together like family. This month, we’re gathering around the screen for a powerful cinematic experience featuring the groundbreaking series High on the Hog and the legendary Black Orpheus. Through food, film, rhythm, and conversation, we’ll explore the beauty, complexity, migration, memory, and resilience of the African diasporic journey.
Storytelling and documentation matter. They preserve our histories, honor our ancestors, celebrate our creativity, and help us reclaim narratives that have too often been overlooked or erased. These films remind us that our stories travel through music, food, flavor, movement, tradition, and community.
And of course, the drinks are going to be 🔥!!!
The cocktail experience is thoughtfully curated to complement the menu, which is always a hit, soulful, flavorful, rich, and unforgettable. Come hungry, come ready to sip, come open, and come ready to connect.
Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring somebody who loves culture, food, music and meaningful connection. We’re building community one gathering at a time, and we cannot wait to see you all there. 🫶🏾
Please share with your networks and help us spread the word. The vibe will not disappoint! ✨
