A day late, but I’m 25. Wild to say that. I’m proud of the man I am, and proud the man who I will continue to grow into. It feels weird to be celebrating yourself at a time like this in our country. There’s a lot I’m grateful for that’s come out of this time, despite the seemingly never ending list of evil that amounts everyday. People have banded together, and I’ve seen a lot of changes in heart that give me some hope for a future with less hate and more love. I, like probably everyone else, want people to be better. I can’t expect that everyone will be, but I want that for our country and our world. No matter who you are, where you came from, what you speak, how you present yourself, and how you love, you should not be threatened if it doesn’t line up with what people in power deem as digestible. It diminishes what is so special about us being human. It takes away the thing that separates us from the animals of the sea and earth. We have souls that can be imbued with the most wonderful personalities, and all of them are allowed to be different. I believe there are more people whose souls out there want to do good.
