Elated to officially welcome longtime friends of Far West, @boomershack , into the family.
Boomershack is a band in Austin, Texas made up of Dan Perez, Will Clark, Ethan Davis, and Charlie Little. Dan has been writing songs for nearly a decade, with heaps of recordings tucked away in drawers on cassettes and a digital 8 track. After a year of playing shows and sifting through these songs, the band hid out in a cabin for a few weeks to figure out what to do with all this material. Out of that experience came new songs, new versions of old songs and old recordings of old songs that surfaced and coalesced into their forthcoming EP, set for release on Far West Records in 2025.
The full glory of Live from Friendly Rio Market is out now. I’ve done sound in some weird places, but this show felt like the final boss of DIY audio. Cheers to all the homies who made it happen: Buckley, Drewsky, Inti, Caleb, Blake, Henry and Alex.

My buddy Lefty put out a beautiful record last week. You can hear me on it playing acoustic and 12-string guitars with a paintbrush. We recorded in Lockhart with Matt Gerhard and Aaron Blount and everyone caught the energy of the songs and the place and the day in a way I think is rare and special to capture. Chet (electric guitar), Andy (pedal steel), Ethan (percussion), and Vanessa (keys) are some of the most talented and inspiring musicians I’ve played with, and Lefty’s songs ring true to me in a way not many do. fwd address is out now :) it’s a handful of songs made in a bunch of different places I’ve lived and I’m really happy to share them all.
