This Thanksgiving, I am profoundly thankful to be here, especially after the horrific experience my family and I have endured. I am grateful for the many friends, colleagues, and family members who showed up to support us, sharing their money, food, and clothing to help us rebuild our lives. I am incredibly thankful for my son and daughters, and for my partner and her sister, who sprang into action and immediately set up a GoFundMe account to support us. Your quick response and unwavering support mean the world to me. I also want to extend my gratitude to my NABET family for their help and encouragement during this time. I couldn't have made it through without all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the strangers who heard about our situation and extended their arms to help, your kindness has been a source of comfort. I deeply appreciate our personal first responders who provided school supplies and instruments, helping my daughter feel a sense of normalcy as she started the school year. To my @nbcny family, words cannot express my gratitude for the overwhelming support during two major crises in my life. Thank you for being there. I also want to acknowledge my extended family of photographers and reporters from other stations who reached out, donated, or offered their assistance—your compassion truly touched my heart. To my neighbors who opened their doors and provided shelter, and to my Panamanian and Dominican family who traveled immediately to help, I cannot thank you enough. From Flames to Fame: My First Emmy Award. Last night, I stood on a stage that felt like a dream, holding my first Emmy Award. It’s a moment that should be filled with joy and celebration, but it comes after a journey that has been anything but ordinary. Just a month ago, I faced the unimaginable—a devastating fire that took everything we owned on Labor Day. From the ashes of that loss, I have risen to a place I never thought possible. I want to first thank my @nbcnewyork family, the @nyemmyawards , and of course @checkey4ny her talented storytelling was on full display as she narrated live the bravery of the Clifton Rescue squad. Reflecting on my path, I realize that the shoulders I’ve stood on to get here are far too many to name. But I must take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to my Parents, and my children, @nafisdee.7 @brieflyniya and @jurneeis2cool your sacrifices—missing me at soccer games, dance recitals, plays, and so much more—have not gone unnoticed. You are my inspiration and my motivation. I can not forget my late wife, Thyria. Her encouragement to follow my heart and her steadfast belief in my talent laid the groundwork for everything I’ve accomplished. A special thank you to @rlsmetromedia , whose mentorship and friendship have been pivotal in my journey. Without your guidance, I might still be treating this as a hobby instead of the career I now cherish. And to my partner and best friend, @oliyili —thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable in private. You knew I would hold an Emmy long before I did, and your faith has propelled me forward.

Wow! My first emmy nomination! I'm completely overwhelmed with gratitude, and I don't even know where to begin! Over 20 years, 13 in the news industry, doing something that started simply as a hobby, with no formal school training or broadcast education, it just feels great to be acknowledged for doing my job at a high level. This emmy nomination is my first, so i wanted to thank a few day one supporters that believed in me and for which; without them, my career would not exist. @rlsmetromedia , you were my education, I spent hours learning TV production with you, you have littered the broadcast industry with professionals in various capacities, and I don't think you receive enough recognition for it. To my brother @eojcam_1 , who bullied me into putting aside the weddings and sweet sixteens to pursue news, thank you for adjusting my vision. To the man whom actually hired me twice, once at @news12 nj and 6 years later at @nbcnewyork @mattypants918 I can never repay you for giving me an opportunity at this rewarding career, and for changing  my famlies lives, your gamble on me after recieving a reel of weddings, sizzle reels, and music videos, was a huge roll of the dice and I will forever be in debt to you for that. To @newsrickholmes @johnbathke and @ranjisinha , the three of you were the first recipients of some early bad packages, but you patiently allowed me to make mistakes without penalty, thank you. To Calvin Tyler, who went above and beyond to get my contact information from a mutual friend, call me on a random Sunday, and in an ambassador role convinced me to transition from one station to the next, and take a leap of faith at a time when I had life altering circumstances happening in my personal life you will forever be uncle Calvin. Lastly, I want to express a heartfelt thanks to @checkey4ny . Your tireless efforts, expertise, instinct, and talent are the reasons why we are nominated. Your support means the world to me. Congratulations! I'm so grateful to have  so many people who believed in me, there are too many to thank, but just know I sincerely appreciate you.  Congratulations to all the nominees!

Lunch run with Jurnee. One of the main things that running does to your body is strengthen, tone, and help define your leg muscles.

For 10 years, Jurnee has been my toughest chess opponent she's always several moves ahead of her old man, which, I take pride in having taught her. This weekend, she paid it forward. Proud AF of her.
