Thank you @officialnffc for the most special day ever, one Arthur will never forget. @morgangibbswhite is a true gent and looked after the little man on the pitch. He even got to meet @bukayosaka87 and shake hands with the whole @arsenal team in the lineup. Shame about the result but nothing was spoiling a day like today ❤️
In this clip, Will Castle shares a moment no son should ever have to face.
After hearing of an incident at Bond Street tube station, Will went there with a sinking feeling. What followed was a phone call to the British Transport Police that confirmed the unthinkable — that his father had died there.
That moment became the start of a lifelong ripple effect. One that moved through his family, his identity, and the way he understands grief, silence, and the damage caused when these conversations are avoided.
Will is a TEDx speaker, filmmaker, and mental health advocate. His work, including his award-winning short film Heirlooms, is rooted in lived experience and a deep belief that silence and shame only make loss heavier for those left behind.
This episode explores the quiet aftermath — the questions, the weight carried by families, and why talking openly matters more than ever.

In this moment, Will Castle shares something incredibly real.
His young son once said he didn’t want to exist anymore. Not because he truly wanted to be gone, but because he didn’t yet have the words for how sad he was feeling.
That moment opened the door to a difficult but honest conversation. One that led Will to talk about his own father, his son’s grandfather, and the way the family had previously carried that loss in silence.
By speaking openly, the shame and secrecy disappeared. What was once a “don’t talk about it” subject became something they could face together as a family.
This is about breaking cycles.
Breaking stigma.
And showing our kids that big feelings don’t have to be hidden.

Some losses don’t just break your heart.
They quietly change the direction of your life.
In this clip, Will Castle @willc239 speaks honestly about the dark places he found himself in after losing his father, and why those left behind are often at far greater risk — not because they’re weak, but because the support around them is painfully thin.
Will is a TEDx speaker, filmmaker, and mental-health advocate, best known for his award-winning short film Heirlooms, created after his own lived experience of loss. His work focuses on grief, silence, and the conversations we still struggle to have.
This isn’t about shock.
It’s about truth.
And about the people who get forgotten once the noise dies down.

In the studio with Will Castle 🎙️ — this Friday’s episode of Talking Tradesman is going deep.
Will lost his father to suicide when he was just 22. After years of silence and struggle, he couldn’t ignore the silence any longer — and turned his pain into purpose. As a TEDx speaker, mental-health advocate, and campaigner against suicide and stigma, he’s raised tens of thousands for men’s mental-health causes and co-produced the short film ‘Heirlooms,’ shining a light on the often invisible grief of losing someone to suicide.
We talk loss, grief, survival — and real, honest hope.
Save the date. This episode drops Friday. 🖤

Proud moment, my @tedxstalbans talk — How to Break the Deadly Cycle of Suicide — is now live.
In it, I explore the gap in support for those bereaved by suicide, and why closing this gap is key to tackling the alarming rise in suicide rates. Every year, 36,000 people in the UK are directly bereaved by suicide. A third of them will experience suicidal thoughts, and 1 in 10 will attempt to take their own life. Those bereaved by suicide are 65% more likely to die by suicide themselves — yet in the UK, there are only a handful of charities dedicated to helping them, such as @suicideandco

Yesterday I did a thing.
After months of rehearsing, script writing, and (even more) rehearsing — sorry, @simonecastle10 — all that hard work finally paid off as I took to the stage at @tedxstalbans to deliver my talk: How to Break the Deadly Cycle of Suicide.
It was weird walking to the train station this morning without listening to my talk on repeat (so I could imprint it in my brain!!) - the first time I have been able to do so in months!
What an incredibly special day and what an experience! If anyone is thinking about doing a TedX talk, I can't recommend it enough.
Patricia Seabright and the whole team - thank you so so much for everything. Your guidance and support has been so valuable and I'm so grateful to you all!
And to all my fellow speakers, it was an honour and a privilege to have shared the stage with you and get to know you all - you're all special people and I'm sure we will stay in touch.
The talk will hopefully be released in the coming weeks so watch this space - I can't wait to share it with you all.
Thank you @stephaniebelton for the 📸
Over 6,000 people died by suicide in 2023 in England and Wales, and nearly three quarters of those were men. On average, each death leaves behind 5 or 6 close relatives, meaning 36,000 people a year are bereaved by suicide. Among those bereaved, 1 in 3 will experience suicidal thoughts, and 1 in 10 may attempt to take their own life.
This really matters.
And with suicide still the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK, we still need to ask; Why are the numbers so much higher for us?
@willc239 has done a lot of work in this space after losing his father to suicide. From awareness and fundraising, to creating a beautiful short film, Heirlooms, highlighting how we can break the ink of intergenerational trauma.
Will’s view, which I agree with, is that men carry emotional burdens in silence until they become too much. In general, we don’t communicate the same way that women do, and whilst we can build pretty strong bonds, it leaves us wanting in times of turmoil.
Deeper connections, more vulnerability, and a new type of masculine connection are just some of the things we can do to help bring this number down.
Listen to the latest episode of Feel Good (link in comments) for the whole conversation.

Very excited to announce I will be delivering a talk at @tedxstalbans on 15th October about the unique grief of suicide loss.
This is a huge moment for me and likely by far the largest audience I have spoken to. It would be great to see some friendly faces in the crowd and you can buy your tickets using the link in my bio.
