From my solo exhibition, Sketches for Dawn at @smokethemoon this summer.
Slide 3 pictures an unfinished page from Sick Earth Catalog, an ongoing book project i’ve been working on since 2020. The flowers portrayed in the painting originated from that sketch of flowers my mother had around the house during the holidays.
Slides 3-7 show details of a larger painting in the vein of Sick Earth Catalog featuring a similar composition and extrapolation on the theme of humans adjusting to the light of reality with wonder, fear, and grace... doubling as a study of and homage to figures by William Blake.
