I am very excited to share my latest mural ‘Daisy Chain’, as part of my upcoming solo exhibition along with 8 other hanging works at @cmcanow that opens this Saturday, Jan. 31st from 3-5pm up in Rockland, Maine.
This mural has been especially fun as it will the first of its kind to be shown congruently with my wood assemblage works.
A huge thank you goes out to curator @grant_wahlquist for believing in my work, and to @internalheartdrive for being the most amazing production assistant for the making of the mural. None of this would have been possible without either of you and my heart is full of gratitude.
The show will run from January 31st - September 6th, 2026.

WILL SEARS: THE THIRD FIELD
We’re thrilled to announce our final Winter / Spring 2026 exhibition, Will Sears’s “The Third Field”!
Will Sears makes assemblages, paintings, and murals in which abstract visual experience generates emotional resonance. Drawing on a wide array of influences—the Bauhaus weavings of Anni Albers, the color theory of Josef Albers, and the DIY ethos of San Francisco’s Mission School—Sears demonstrates the endless possibilities of the grid and the power of relational color. “The Third Field” includes recent assemblages and a site-specific mural—the first time Sears has shown these two aspects of his practice side by side.
Join us as we celebrate all of these exhibitions with the artists on *January 31st, 2026, from 3 - 5 pm*!

Thanksgiving ‘25 marks 3 years of getting into bouldering, and as cliche as it sounds, it’s changed the way I think. Around 2019 I was really stuck in the studio, knowing I needed my work to evolve but not knowing how to get there. Bouldering played an important roll in getting me out of that funk by redefining my relationship with failure. Suddenly starting fresh with something I found so challenging was a fun problem rather than a hit to my ego. It re awakened my beginner mind and reminded me of the sweetness of discomfort and the need to be open to learning. Here are a few highlights from this past year getting outside.

I'm pleased to announce that I will have work in an upcoming group show, 'We Move Together' curated by @tracy_u_mckenna at @platformprojectspace opening this Thursday, Nov 6th, in Dumbo, BK.
"We Move Together explores the importance of color blocking and interposing lines in abstraction. Five contemporary artists present tasty, bright morsels of paint that mesh with ceramic, wood, and hydrocal. Blocks, lines, and amorphous forms blend and call to each other in a kaleidoscopic array.
.
“The show is about the importance of community in this moment: building bridges across media and space, while finding meaningful, joyful connections in paint, palette, and life. When we move together, we stay together,” states curator Tracy McKenna.
.
The artists are based on both coasts, with New Yorkers Sarah Heinemann, Steve Hicks, and Kevin Umaña joined by LA based Megan Reed and Maine artist Will Sears.
.
Platform is an artist run space located at 20 Jay Street, #319, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Gallery hours Fridays and Saturdays, 12-6 pm. For visits not including the opening, please contact 917-426-8121 and we will send a QR code to your phone for the lobby turnstiles."
.
A HUGE thank you to all that came out for the opening of my show at @masseykleingallery last week! What a night, wow. Much love was felt.
For anyone that hasn’t had a chance to catch it yet, the show is up through December 13th.

The exhibition will be on view from October 25th through December 13th, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 25th, from 6-8pm.
This is the artist’s first solo exhibition with the gallery.
Assembled from small painted wood pieces, Will Sears' compositions function as fields of color that create an optical space.
Each echoes the concerns of the color-field movement while also asserting its material surface as another kind of spatial condition.
Described as calming and meditative, Sears’ work is composed of restrained color palettes and repetitive construction–a repetition that parallels meditative practices of rhythmic breathing and the tactile counting of prayer beads.
Each composition presents a duality that is revealed over time, exploring how color and material relate to space in different ways.
The gradually unfolding color relationships create a sense of push and pull, which yields a perceived sense of depth as the viewer tries to make sense of the hierarchical relationship between colors.
