And breathe! After a rather manic time over recent weeks with my Decades of Design sale, a last minute surprise trip from my husband to my favourite place on the planet! Grabbing a few days in the spring sunshine to regroup and relax! Time for Paris to do what it does best ❤️❤️❤️
NEW CONSIGNMENT - May Avenue has always, and I think will always be a holy grail pattern for collectors. A classic landscape filled with character, charm and complexity.
The spade shape trees with cottages tucked away beneath the boughs of that huge black trunked tree are classic Clarice.
This lovely little 186 vase is the perfect pairing of pattern and shape and will come up at our next specialist Clarice Cliff sale on the 12th of March together with another 395 lots of Clarice with estimates ranging from £40 to £6000.
The sale will be live next week across all platforms including @fieldingsauctioneers
NEW CONSIGNMENT - Another sneak preview ahead of the sale going live next week is this incredible Lotus jug in the seldom seen and always keenly contested Beach Balls pattern dating from 1930.
A wonderful early combination of stylised fruit and foliage with block lines painted so strongly on this full size lotus.
A pattern I’ve only had a handful of times and this is bound to be a popular lot, once being in the Barry Jones collection.
Estimated at £3000 to £5000 it’s a real gem in the sale.
(One of my besties thinks we should rename this pattern Pumpkin…….what do you think?)
NEW CONSIGNMENT - Decades of Design & Clarice Cliff - Thursday 12th & Friday 13th of March - The sale is done and not only our largest EVER design sale but our largest ever Clarice Cliff event in 20 yrs! I am thrilled to confirm that we have 395 lots and the sale will be live on Monday the 2nd
One of our star lots is this incredible and early Applique Lugano lemonade set with huge conical jug and six large beakers! A wonderful example most likely painted by John Butler!
Over the coming days I will share some of my favourite finds from the sale.
Keep an eye on our website and here’s to an exciting sale for @fieldingsauctioneers
As we all navigate the barren wasteland between Christmas and New Year thank goodness for @bbcantiquesroadshow to guide us along the way.
Over the summer we visited @trenthamestate and I set Fiona a new challenge featuring three amazing pieces of 20th century design, but can you guess the answer before Fiona?
For a bonus point you can also play “where’s Jonny?” to see if you can spot my husband in tonight’s programme!
Sadly there’s no prize, just the glory of the win!
Happy New Year everyone x
Did you get it right?
And that’s a wrap! Christmas is in the bag, pressies under the tree and we are good to go! It’s been one hell of a year, both happy and sad, but we made it round the sun once more!
Regardless of what you gift or what you get I wish you all a very Happy Christmas spent with those you love, while taking a moment to remember those no longer here.
But above all I wish you all health and happiness because at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.
Without doubt one of my most favourite items I’ve ever filmed over the last 21 yrs on the @bbcantiquesroadshow
I would have loved to take that beautiful Polar Bear home to live with us however, sadly not to be, BUT how lucky was I to handle and see this magic piece of Worcester porcelain.
“Home” - Derbyshire is a magical place and will always hold a special place in my heart! Born and raised here it always feels comfortable…..off to just wander today x
Too brief, too fleeting and too long since we caught up! Childhood friends stay with you to the end and the Holdsworth clan have always been like a second family to me.
So gorgeous to meet up with @essyvt and @gennyholdsworth@holdsworthchocolates - quite simply the BEST chocolate in the world! Started by Queen Bee Barbara all those years ago, who fed and watered me growing up on countless occasions.
Up in Derbyshire for the weekend catching up with friends and couldn’t not call in to see Gennys new boutique chocolate factory. It’s incredible, elegant, stylish and as beautiful as I always knew it would be!
The walls hand painted by @ginawatkinsonartist another old school friend who is beyond talented! A true story of Derbyshire skill, talent and hard work at its best.
Treated to hot chocolate, fizz and Gens new range of classic pudding inspired chocolates, lemon meringue and Bakewell pudding my favourites! Go and visit, hop on line, get some in for Christmas….we have!
Love to the Holdsworth’s and so proud of you as would your mum be ❤️❤️
