I wanted to write a love song and lean into the softness. Took me a long time to realise that soft is brave. Still realising it sometimes.
When I wrote this I was deeply fixated on Arthur Russell and Labi Siffre (my gay fathers) and admiring the way they wrote love songs. Writing songs about loving men and embracing the tenderness and sweetness.
As always, partner in crime Romaeo (@romaeo__ ) produced, arranged and mixed this song. She is a multi talented genius and I love making music with her.

In the last moments of summer Kiri and I camped down the coast to shoot some photos for her music. I had my camcorder with me n thought we might shoot a few things and ended up having enough footage for a whole video. I passed the camera to Kiri for a week while she travelled up north and asked her to capture things she found appealing - water, animals, touch, light. I spliced it all together n here she is, the music video for ‘I Like It’.
It’s an homage to summer, love, sex, sweat - honouring the beauty of the coast and Kiri x
Someone tell sporty spice he’s playin’ the tote!!! A true honour to support @hannah_____mckittrick , to me she is one of the goats of the local music scene. Kiri’s new single is out now. We shot this photo on a hot summer afternoon with the beach to ourselves. We were on such a creative high it was bloody fun. Honoured to create visuals for such good music. Congrats @kiricca you are a true star 🧡
