What a day it’s been here. Making the most of the slower pace of life before spending the day chasing @elseydavis around the mountains tomorrow. Got to stay one step ahead all day somehow… and it’s definitely not as simple as the coast path!

NEW ROUTE - The Cornish Sky-nine 😅
⛰️ Brown Willy (420 m) • ⛰️ Little Rough Tor (373 m) • ⛰️ Rough Tor (400 m) • ⛰️ Louden Hill (315 m)
In 2020 I set the FKT on the Cornish Skyline after trading the route map with Tom Sutton (@freedom__racing ) for a lasagne recipe. Nobody had ever run it but Tom had thought it would make. Good race. I don’t know if he ever made the lasagne, but I spent the next couple of weeks finding lines from the highest points on Bodmin Moor. I kept it for a few months until some faster folk came and did it quicker, and I haven’t ran it much since… except maybe twice as a run hike with friends.
If you’ve ever thought, as I have, I wish it was shorter and didn’t have the whole quite boring first half, well now you can have this GPX file and run the excellent second half, with a new iconic start and finish with 1 mile of otherworldly farm track cutting straight into (and out of) the heart of the moor. Start and finish touching the corner fence post please.
This isn’t an attempt, but it is a map anyone can use to set one. Quick, before I come back and give it some… without getting lost after Garrow Tor like I did today 😂
I actually only went to the moor for some peace and quiet today. I found that, and more.

Ever heard of the Bluebell Witch? She’s got a big bluebell for a head and brambles for arms. She eats children to feed her bluebell forest and drinks bluebell tea to wash them down. She uproots trees when she’s cross and lives in a stick house. Despite how terrifying she sounds, Lowen was keen to track her down, compass and whacking stick in hand.
