This was my first attempt at using Blender to create a finalised animated scene. I’ve been pushing myself to get outside of my comfort zone and learn some new skills in my time off work. Learnt a lot through the process and excited to explore more of the potential between digital painting and 3d animation.

I’ve been enjoying designing scenes starting from a specific song in mind. @svaneborgkardyb have been an endless source of inspiration for me over the past couple of years, and Cycles has accompanied me on many snowy train rides across parts of Scandinavia and Germany.

Love doing these, quick n' easy. Use a o.1 fineliner usually to rough out the shapes, brush pen and tombow ABT markers to block out values.

Selection of pocket moleskine sketches from last year. Experimenting more with blind contour drawing as a means to discover some different line styles and record quickly when working from observation.
