Took a trip up to the tannery to meet the great people who run this place. A true American business. We were told Milwaukee was once the largest leather producing city in the world. Today, only a few tanneries remain along with a shrinking number of people who still carry the knowledge and skill to turn animals skins into finished leather.
Seeing the work and craftsmanship that goes into every hide was incredible. This business isn’t just manufacturing, it’s an art form. One that is slowly disappearing.
One of the core principles of Wildstride from the beginning has been to use American animal hides tanned right here in the USA to help preserve this tradition and support the people keeping it alive. We’ll always stand behind American tanneries above any other.

While our sandals start out with no “built in arch support”, they are designed to quickly mold to your specific foot shape. Over time, the double leather footbed will mold perfectly to the contours of your feet whether you have low arches or high to give you the most personalized sandal you’ve ever worn. Over time, your sandal will develop its own arch support based on your foot rather than a standard manufactured “one size fits all” arch support.

No built in arch support however the sandals are made to mold to the natural contours of your feet. Something tells me that built in arch support isn’t actually good for our feet. Need an expert opinion. What do you think?
