Hi there! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm so glad to have so many new friends here! I thought I'd introduce myself again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m Bree, the artist behind Wildship Studio. You probably adore animals and all things nature if you're here, right? ME. TOO. I usually say hi to people’s dogs (only petting with permission) before the people themselves, and currently I share my space with two rescued cats, my husband of 8 years, lots of plants, and a cattle dog rescue mix. (You can see pics of them all in my Stories! Except the husband. Sorry, Nik. ) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What you probably don’t know is that I also have a dorky streak. When I was little I thought I could grow up to be a dolphin, horse, or velociraptor (anyone else???) and would practice often. And I thought for sure if I tried hard enough I could talk telepathically to animals. Not going to lie, I still try that now and then because YOU NEVER KNOW and that would be a pretty cool superpower. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Nowadays I geek out over my rock + mineral collection, which I add to whenever we travel someplace. Put me in a rock shop and I'm gone for hooooours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love hiking + backpacking + being outdoors. Seeing the mountains never fails to make me tear up, and I hold a special place for the Bighorn Mtns of Wyoming (where I was born) and the Porcupines wilderness of Michigan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also... Meet April’s Artist of the Month! 🦋 BreeAnn Kitsuki is the illustrator and designer behind Wildship Studio. We’ll have her cookies in our shop all month long! Born in the rugged mountains of Wyoming and raised in the lakes and woods of northern Michigan, nature has always been BreeAnn’s guiding star. As a kid, she’d be found sketching, swimming in lakes, and hunting for nature’s little gems such as rocks and bits of wood, which now adorn her art studio. Wildship Studio creates illustrated goods made for the wild at heart- driven by curious hearts and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. I rarely do sitewide sales, and I’ve never done a discount this steep before. I honestly debated with myself about even doing it because I don’t want to undervalue my work or lean too much into the Black Friday craze. But if I’m being honest...sales have been way down this year and it’s been worrisome. This is for both wholesale and retail, as well as my in-person markets. I think money is tight and times are uncertain for many. So I decided to go with 40% off all regular priced items, which is almost at wholesale pricing, because I believe we all need more art + nature in our lives. We’re reel excited to introduce the two newest swimmers in our trout pin collection: a feisty cutthroat trout and a bashful little golden trout. 💦 The golden trout is a rare alpine gem—elusive in real life and only slightly easier to catch in Animal Crossing. ;) The cutthroat trout, famous for its fiery red throat (and equally fiery fanbase), has been one of our most requested fish pins. Ours is locked in full spawning color. Hello! It’s been too long since I’ve painted anything or even shared something here. I’m learning to trust myself and the process again. It’s hard when the world feels so heavy and scary, but I’m being reminded just how important art and small joys are to embrace. I have a series of little original paintings planned to help me get back in the groove, as well as to make new stickers from. First up is this tortoise! Any special requests?
