Do not comply in advance.
Do not comply swiftly, do not comply easily.
Do not comply without delay, without mistakes, without unfortunate errors.
Do not comply because you have to speak to your boss. Your manager. Another team. The legal department. Do not comply because you need to consult documentation and obtain authorization from additional parties.
It’s not your fault if you cannot comply. There are cross-dependencies. Unforeseen complications. Expired credentials. You’re doing your best to comply, really, but there’s a software issue and it’s going to take an additional 48 hours (again and again).
Un-comply. What do you mean, the prior version is back? It must have been a scripting error, a problem at the data center, a version control conflict. It’ll get done properly this time. (It won’t.)
You see incompetence and points of failure every day, from airlines and health insurance and labyrinthine phone trees. Weaponize it—softly, apologetically, innocently.
Armor yourself in procedure and regulations. Defend your coworkers. It’s not their fault that error happened, it’s because there was insufficient training. A broken plug-in. A risk of a data leak.
Fighting back doesn’t have to look like a fight. Comply if you must, but do so poorly. This is resistance. This matters.

I love this little Critical Role 10-year anniversary bag! The perfect fit for various pieces of @critical_role and @darringtonpress paraphernalia. Or just lots of minis and dice….
