I accepted the challenge by Keith Wellman to play with him on a new c-league team at the Northlake rink. It's been hard. Everyone is fast. Some of them even have skills. I'm never comfortable. I tire quickly. But I finally got on the score sheet. If I never get better, I still can say I played ice hockey for more than 20 years. It was only a bucket-list sport when I first started. But ice hockey is just a blast. Hope I can do it well into my 60s. #TexasHockey #PuckinA @puckinahockey
Our team, the Dallas Stars Warriors in the Tier6A group, fell to the Minnesota Warriors in the semi-finals, ending the USA Hockey 2026 Warrior National Championships with a 3-2 record (both losses were to the Minnesota Warriors). In the finals, Minnesota lost to the Tulsa Warriors (who we beat), so you never know how it will go. I’m proud of my team, and proud of my own efforts: 3 goals and ZERO penalties (though @eclecticlifewitherin loves to see me sitting in the ‘Naughty Box’). Speaking of her, she was there at all of my games, watching, supporting and cheering for us, though likely freezing because she’s not too good at dressing for cold. 😀 GIRL! WEAR SOCKS!!! 😀 ❤
This mornings game vs Tampa brought us into 2nd place, and another game this afternoon. I got the game winning goal thanks to a beautiful pass from our defensemen.
Game 2 for this tournament brings Dallas Stars Warriors Tier 6A a WIN and another goal for my score sheet - both of my goals this series has been from passes by Brian Wilson ... So I guess I'm gonna have to keep him around 🤣
Another game at 2:45pm I believe. I'm thinking about chilling out the rest of the morning in front of the camper brought by Ryan Young ... Looking like a homeless encampment out there right now with wet hockey gear scattered around and hanging in trees and across fences.
Our first game was a close game. Though we lost this game vs Minnesota, I got on the score sheet to take a lead which we held on to until the 3rd period. Next game is Friday (today) at 8:45 am.
