“Be Sweet” recently went gold! Pretty unreal that this song was written the very first day @jbrekkie and I met. Incredibly grateful for all it’s brought us 🧡🧡

Just Announced & On Sale Now: The second installment in our 2026 Summer Camp Concert Series will celebrate Burial’s 13th rotation around the sun. Join us on Saturday, June 20th for Local Natives with Wild Nothing & Pink Beds. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our Anniversary Celebrations. Stay tuned for all of the details, unveiling over the next few months. For now, snag your tickets to the show at the link in our bio. @localnatives Based in Los Angeles, the group progressed their sound over the course of five full-length albums, Gorilla Manor [2009], Hummingbird [2013], Sunlit Youth [2016] Violet Street [2019] and Time Will Wait For No One [2023]. In the span of one year the band performed twice on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Local Natives have received praise from Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, The Guardian and many more. In between countless sold out shows and festival appearances, including a standout Coachella 2017 set, they’ve graced the stages of Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show With David Letterman, The Late Late Show With James Corden, and more. @wildnothing Because “Hold,” Jack Tatum’s fifth album under the moniker Wild Nothing, was written in the aftermath of new parenthood during the pandemic, it was probably inevitable that it would be searching and existential music. But during the recording process, the artist known for synth-pop tastefulness took it as an opportunity to reach for a new sonic maximalism and wider set of influences. With contributions from longtime collaborator Jorge Elbrecht, Tommy Davidson of Beach Fossils and Hatchie’s Harriette Pilbeam, first single “Headlights On” features an acid house-worthy bass groove and breakbeat that prove Tatum is playing for the rafters. @pinkbedsmusic Pink Beds sits at the intersection of spacious grooves and lush song-crafting. If All I Have, the band’s debut LP, was a love letter to the sounds that surrounded them in Appalachia, the March 2024 follow-up, Spare Key To A Memory, is a nuanced and evolved form, showcasing their love of lush, angular, and ethereal sounds designed to resonate with our deepest emotional experiences.

You would think I’d be getting used to these 10 year anniversaries by now but truthfully I’m baffled by how much time has passed since I first started Wild Nothing… Despite all my best efforts to freeze time, “Life Of Pause” turns 10 today. To celebrate I’m launching a brand new Substack where I’ll be hosting a full album listening party - available to everyone - on Friday 2/27 at 4pm EST! Join me in the chat and let’s pop some bubbles. I’m really excited about what this new space will become and can’t wait to start interacting with you all over on Substack. More on all that soon… Made my first post over there, all about “Life Of Pause”, so be sure to check it out. Link to subscribe is in my bio 💫

I haven’t been on here much this year (if you couldn’t tell). Is it time for an update? Our second son just turned 1 in September and I find myself being dad more than Wild Nothing most days. The leaves are starting to drop here in Richmond and as much as I sometimes miss touring like we used to it’s hard not to admit that I’m being pulled more and more to the quiet life with every passing year. I promise you I’m still out here writing and scheming and thinking about music all the time though and I don’t anticipate that ever stopping. We’re already cooking up some really special shows for 2026, but in the meantime I’d love to hear from you all. Having our only point of connection be through instagram has been alright, but I’m really looking for more moving forward. The bogus algorithms, endless slop. Kinda bleak times over here in meta world if you ask me. I’m not sure what moving away from this looks like and I don’t imagine leaving for good but surely there’s a better way? Is anyone finding Patreon an enjoyable way to connect? Would people be into me starting a more regularly updated Substack? I’d love to bring back some of the spirit of the radio show I hosted years ago. Maybe that’s monthly mixes? Is there any interest in production chats? Songwriting feedback? Really - let me know what you think would be exciting to see from the musicians you listen to, I’m super interested. I’ve also not really put it into the universe that I’m seeking production gigs, mostly because I’ve had my hands full juggling production and Wild Nothing stuff the past few years. I’ve been lucky to take on some really exciting projects just through word of mouth and personal connections but if any artists out there reading this have serious inquiries about production I’m always down to take messages! Much love as always 💙 Photos by @danabtatum

“Shock Treatment” by @kingsburyxx is finally out! I had an incredible time producing this EP. As a homebody with a not so secret love of pop music it was such an amazing experience for me to work with someone like Caroline who’s not afraid to really go for it in her music. It was clear from our first conversation what a driven and determined artist Caroline is and our shared spiritual connection to 1980s pop allowed us to find a shared musical vocabulary incredibly quickly. In addition to production I also co-wrote the song “Meteorite”. Very proud, it’s a special one y’all. Big thank you to Caroline for pulling me into this project and to all the amazing folks who helped piece it together: @therealaaronespinoza & @theshipstudio @ianstahl92 for engineering and good vibes @cam.trails for smackin drums @izzyfontaine insane shredder @jgordonnn for a fantastic mix Link in bio ⚡️🩷
