I needed to add color to my feed - what better way than a beautiful diagonal flowing multicolored suite with a soft magenta backdrop ✨ I can break apart what I did right and what I did wrong with this flat and it makes me eager to continue creating these beautiful flatlays that appeal to the eye. Here’s where I am with this one - 1. My name tags take up too much space on the lower left, which left an empty space on the lower right - its like a void I want to fill in now 😂 2. The upper left stationary piece hugs the corner a little too tight. I could have left more empty room up there! 3. There are florals touching the tip of one shoe and that bugs me 😂 I am here to tell you - if you’re over critiquing your flatlays, you are not alone! Just as we over critique ourselves, we can also pull apart pieces that we like. 1. Adding the name cards in a pinwheel fashion adds visual interest and uniqueness 2. Balancing florals from one side of the mat to the other - but in a subtle criss cross and not a straight horizontal line. 3. Creating a visual flow from the upper left to lower right of the flatlay, while keeping priority on the center piece. 4. The color palette is nicely cohesive amongst all elements! Ultimately I could have brought this one to life a million different ways and that is both the joy and the hardship with flatlays!
