CARRYING INSIDE IT A SPARK OF THE SUNS LIFE GIVING ENERGY,
A FAMILIAR FLASH OF HOPE ON THE HIGHLAND LANDSCAPE
ITS SCENT FILLS ME WITH A HEADY SENSE OF HOME AND I FEEL ROOTED
FLOWERING RELENTLESSLY THROUGHOUT EVERY SEASON
ITS STRENGTH, A STORY OF PERSEVERANCE,
ITS PRICKLES ,A HEDGE OF PROTECTION ,
A SACRED WOOD, HOLDING A SAFE PLACE TO FLOURISH
IT EVOKES IN ME THE FEELING OF A JOURNEY, OF OPEN ROADS, OF POSSIBILITY
THE GORSE RISES TO MEET ME
OUR STORIES ENTWINED
ITS TOWERING BEAUTY A TENACIOUS TALE
A FIREY PHOINIX
BEAUTY IN RESILIENCE
THOUGH CUT BACK AND SCORCHED TO THE GROUND
I’M CAPTIVATED BY ITS ABILITY TO NOURISH AND TO HEAL
TO REGENERATE BEYOND ITSELF
LEAVING LUMINOUS LESSONS
HOWEVER HOPELESS YOU MIGHT FEEL,
WHERE EVER YOU ARE PLANTED
THERE IS ALWAYS THE POSSIBILITY FOR THE FLOW OF CREATIVITY,
GROWTH AND NEWNESS
ITS SEEDS EXPLODE INTO LIFE
ITS SUMMER FOR THE SOUL
A TINY PEA LIKE FLOWER THAT TRANSCENDS THE SEASONS,
A REMEDY, A REFUGE

Wedding in the Scottish Highlands on a stormy day.
The storm rolled in on their wedding day in the Scottish Highlands. Plans changed a few times, but they stuck with what mattered, a marquee by the loch, on the farm Max grew up on.
It was cold and a bit unpredictable, but they kept their expectations simple. Just be together. Enjoy it for what it is. And honestly, the guests made it. The kind of people who don’t mind a bit of wind or rain. Who just go with it. That’s what made the day - not the weather, just everyone showing up the way they did.

Where daffodils sway like whispered promises,
petals catching the wind as if they remember something ancient.
The hillside breathes in gold and green,
and in the middle of it all—
them.
Jaxson reaches for a bloom,
tucking a daffodil gently behind Sabrina’s ear—
like placing something fragile exactly where it belongs.
She softens into the moment,
a quiet smile forming before she even looks at him.
As if she can feel the care in it.
Her hand finds his cheek,
light, steady—
the kind of touch that lingers longer than it needs to.
It’s never just one moment.
It’s a thousand quiet ones.
A glance. A breath. A softness that builds.
Tiny pieces, gathering—
until suddenly, it’s everything.
A whole world made of small gestures.
Of tenderness.
Of love that doesn’t need to be loud to be lasting.
Spring in the Highlands doesn’t ask for attention,
it simply becomes unforgettable.

When your first look turns into something you could never plan for.
A wedding day on the Isle of Skye in spring
where the air holds both rain and light at once
and the world feels like it’s waiting for something.
Emily and Max stepped into their portrait session
thinking it would be quiet, simple
just the beginning of the day unfolding.
And then the sky answered.
A rainbow, soft at first
barely there against the mist
until it grew
stronger and stronger
stretching wide across the water and hills.
And then another.
A double arc rising behind them
as if the moment needed more
as if one wasn’t enough to hold what this was.
They spun through the grass
through daffodils bending in the wind
laughter carried in the air between them
as her hair lifted, as his followed
as everything moved at once.
The rain softened
the sun broke through
and color poured into the sky like something alive.
It felt close enough to touch
like you could reach out your hand
and feel it there.
A beginning written boldly
in light, in wind, in color
a quiet kind of luck that doesn’t ask to be explained
only felt.
For Emily and Max
a start as beautiful as the life ahead of them.
