I started this piece last November when I was in New Mexico for an artist residency. The idea came from a conversation I had with my mom and realizing how much we were both still carrying from the women before us and how we were both trying to repair things in our own way.
This is also heavily inspired by the work on the Mother Wound by Bethany Webster @themotherwound
This piece will be on display during the exhibition, "Freedom Holds the Body, opening May 24th.
