* Third is a mini skirt-bikini that I pleated by hand with a special materiality treatment
PC: @cyb3r.bull I made a dress for @sheisangel_____ ‘s wedding. This was my first wedding dress and oh my god this was so special. The bodice is an asymmetrical corset made with an upholstery grade, recycled, and aged cow leather. The skirt and draped flourish on top is made from a stiffened waxed canvas (9 yards of it in just the skirt to be exact). Every crease and wrinkle was hand sewn with pliers and ultra thick nylon thread. This day was so beyond special. The love present at this event was something to aspire to and cherish.

A standing train ride

I do wish though that I had two different bodies rn, since the gofundme Ive hit the ground running! Have 2 photo shoots set up, new looks designed, finished up another look with a new materiality treatment!!!
The big thing on my mind right now is how much everything feels so apocalyptic rn both good and bad ways. I really have been trying to lean into the liberation of a unpromised tomorrow. Remind yourself of the things you love so can go do them, remind yourself of who you love so you can go talk to them, and get out there and hook!!!!!
I knitted this sweater by hand!!! It is made from mulberry silk yarn, silk noile yarn, wool yarn, and cotton thread. I hand twined 1,500 yards (thats 4,500 feet) of black silk yarn with black cotton treads to achieve the look and texture I desired. Was that a waste of time? Not for the details… details rlly matter. Anyways this took me 3 months of knitting and 1.5 months of spinning.
Ive actually been getting really into knitting in the past year its kinda punk asf it defies the quantification and commodification of time, it is so insanely labor intensive and difficult to do.
Not to mention really fine dexterity can be quite hard with my disability, so naturally I had to get good at it!!
Additionally, I used to feel shaded when ppl would ask me “did you make that?” About something I was wearing (especially if the answer was yes lmao) but NOW that ive gotten better at sewing and knitting from a technical perspective no one really asks that question anymore and Ive found out that actually hurts worse!!!
