This Unagi don (eel) in Nagoya was probably the best meal I had on the entire trip. Cooked slowly over charcoal grill it was sweet, tender and had no fishy taste at all.

I don't know whether this was a deliberate subtle in-joke, but this "No Alcohol for Under 20s" banner features three of the characters from the series Oshi No Ko. The series revolves around Idol culture and the entertainment industry. The Mem-cho chracter while presenting herself as an 18 year Idol singer, is actually 25 years old in the series. 😆

Being in Shibuya seemed like a good opportunity to try out Chris Broad's @lostbarjapan . Amusing drink menu names aside, the drinks were actually delicious. You need to slide the gatchapon wall to the side to enter the door 😆
Then later when it comes time for dinner and drinks yakiniku is always a good choice! 🍖

Back last month. Walking around all morning certainly builds up a thirst, and isn't that conveinent that the Asahi headquarters is just a short walk away? The building even looks like a glass of beer! My enjoyment of Asahi Super Dry over the years has probably funded half the cost of building it!
That afternoon there was a huge thunderstorm that flooded parts of Tokyo and delayed several trains. Luckily we were in a good place to wait for it to blow-over and just get more rounds of beer
