What an epic weekend! Thank you to everyone who joined us. This event exceeded all expectations, and it couldn’t have come together without each and every one of you. I loved every moment, and I can’t wait for our next adventure together! Special thanks to Chef Kenzo @busu_astoria for an outstanding wild foraged menu. Jessaid @bacalaito_frito our event planner and jack of all trades. Jordan @rbnlife who played amazing music around the campfire, the perfect soundtrack for our adventure. Thanks to @cascadiaglamping for our beautiful glamping tents, an excellent experience working with you guys! Thanks to supporting Chefs Jonathan, Tom, and the rest of the crew. Fresh Himalayan Cordyceps just in from @wild.foragers and have already hit the dehydrated for use in my daily tea…this superfood mushroom keeps me going on these long spring and summer days. So grateful for these every year!!! Love you!!!

Some recent shots from my wild kelp harvesting missions. It’s been one of the most challenging, exciting, and rewarding foraging experiences I’ve undertaken so far. Charging into the surf to get past the breakers, rogue waves flipping my kayak onto the rocks, bags of kelp drifting off into the ocean, live pinching crabs dropped straight into my lap mid-harvest… that’s just how it goes out there. Although it’s been tough, bringing home these new fresh ingredients and seeing what chefs do with them has been 100% worth it! Some of the best chefs in the Pacific Northwest and California have been early adopters, jumping in and pushing it in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Chef Kenzo @busu_astoria with pickled kelp bladders Chef Chris @theherbfarmrestaurant with Pacific Giant Kelp wrapped and cured fish Chef Cody and the crew @delasoilrestaurant with beautiful fresh kelp dishes Chef Kyle and the crew at Harvest @theranchlb for all the cool kelp projects they’ve been working on All the other incredible chefs working with this wild kelp that I didn’t mention here, I appreciate you! And of course, the team at Noma @nomacph , who I have the honor of working closely with, foraging kelp and a vast array of wild ingredients throughout their ongoing LA residency As tough as it can be out there, I love every minute of it. Thank you guys for all your support and for encouraging me to do this work that I love. We are just getting started...hang on for the ride!
