This was an item that was extremely fast sold out at the shop of Speedpuzzle EU, but I have been lucky enough to get a copy in the raffled organised by @speedpuzzling.the.netherlands during the International Puzzle day meet-up 💜
I made it together with my husband in under 1h, while he never stopped mentioning how beautiful and how well designed for #Speedpuzzling this item is. I agree with that!

Wies van Keulen from the Netherlands - our first EJJ participant to have their image presented on a Speedpuzzle.eu puzzle! @wiispuzzling
Wies is the illustrator behind "Bottled Biomes" launched on 19th November during the livestream of #103. As a speed puzzler herself, she has integrated many little puzzle pieces into the image, which are fun to stumble upon during the assembly. She has also used gradients, colour and texture to create an image that is a joy to piece together, whether you decide to do it casually or speedily.
Each bottle features a different biome - jungle, ocean, desert, volcano and mountains - and together with the cute labels and different bottle shapes, a variety of textures can be explored.
Wies works as a freelance illustrator mainly doing government projects, turning complex ideas into simple to understand graphics. This image was completed in two days from concept to finished picture.
During the Tuesday night flex meeting, Wies participated just for fun and enjoyed the thrill of racing her puzzle alongside all the other speed puzzlers. Her children were watching and commenting on what they saw on screen. Wies finished in 38:13, having puzzled it already together with her children and parents, as well as doing the four mini puzzles of individual bottles.
She has participated in several EJJs,as well as the Dutch Nationals and World Championship in 2025. In Vallodolid, she was easy to spot in her orange tutu, together with her friend Danique.
