Next time you’re washing:
1. Use lukewarm or cool water. It’s much gentler on the strands.
2. Finger-comb first. Get those tangles out before the water hits.
3. Air dry is king. Pat it down with a soft towel and let it sit on a stand. Skip the blow dryer if you can!
Treat your hair like an investment, not just an accessory. Your pockets (and your look) will thank you!

Ugh, there is actually nothing more frustrating than checking the mirror one last time and seeing a birds-nest forming at the nape of your neck. 🙄 Like, excuse me? We haven't even stepped out the door yet!
If your wig is acting up before the day even starts, don’t panic. Here is exactly what you need to do:
📌 1. The "Silicon" Secret Use a tiny drop of high-quality hair serum or a silicone-based spray. It gives the strands that "slip" they need so they slide past each other instead of hooking together.
📌 2. Check Your Clothes
If you’re wearing something textured, try pinning the hair up until you're settled, or stick to smoother fabrics.
📌 3. The "Light" Detangle
Don't reach for a fine-tooth comb! Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb and start from the very bottom. Pushing a knot from the top just tightens it.
If you read this far, means you are learning something, I think this is where you save this post.
📌 4. Ditch the Heavy Products
Sometimes we over-style with hairspray or gels, and the hair becomes "tacky." That stickiness is a magnet for tangles. If it’s feeling gummy, it might be time for a quick rinse to start fresh.

1. You notice the little things. You’ve started seeing exactly where the lace is lifting or where a knot needs a tiny bit of concealer before anyone else does.
2. You own a wide-tooth comb. And you actually use it from the ends up, because you’ve realized that patience is the secret to longevity.
3. You’ve stopped fearing the water. You’ve realized that washing your wig isn't a "scary" science experiment; it’s just giving your hair the spa day it deserves.
4. You trust your hands. You’ve realized your fingers are the best tools for detangling and feeling the texture of the hair.
5. You’re tired of the "Salon Wait." You’ve realized that the three hours spent in a waiting room could be twenty minutes of focused care at home.
6. You have "The Kit." Maybe it’s just a specific sulfate-free shampoo and a mannequin head, but you’ve started gathering your tools.
7. You’ve watched "The Video." You’ve seen a tutorial and thought, "Wait, I can actually do that," instead of "That looks impossible."
8. You care about the "Underneath." You’ve started prioritizing your natural hair’s health under the wig, which is the first step of a true pro.
9. You recognize "Heat Damage" before it happens. You’ve reached for the heat protectant spray instinctively because you value the investment.
10. You’ve mastered the "Night Routine." You no longer just toss the wig on the dresser; you’ve started bagging it or putting it on a stand.
11. You’re curious about the lace. You’ve found yourself looking at tinting sprays or powders, realizing you know your skin tone better than any stylist.
12. You want it done "Your Way." You have a specific way you like your baby hairs or your part, and you’re the only one who gets it right every time.
13. You’ve realized "Expert" is just "Practice." You understand that the stylists at the salon aren't magicians—they just have the knowledge you’re currently gaining.
14. You value your coins. You’ve done the math and realized that maintaining it yourself means more money for that next high-quality unit.
15. Youel the "I Did This" pride. There’s a certain
One of the biggest mistakes that’ll ruin your unit faster than anything is using hot water. I know it feels like you’re getting all the product buildup out, but here’s the tea:
1. Hot water strips the hair of the oils it needs to stay soft. Since the hair isn't growing from your head, it can't "regrow" that shine. You’ll end up with a dry, frizzy mess that looks "crunchy."
2. Too much heat can actually warp the cap underneath, making it lose its shape. Nobody wants a wig that doesn't lay flat!
So, what should you do?
I'll drop the answer in the comments. Don't want to make this too long,

The first thing you need to do is to understand the kind of hair you are working with.
Is it human hair, synthetic, high quality, can it withstand heat and at what level.
This helps you to know how to handle it.
You may need to also read up on it to understand better or follow this page to learn more.
Then, you'll Detangle. Yes.
If it's dry and matted by the nape area, that why you start with.
In the next video, I'll be showing you exactly how to do that.

1. The "Nape Knot"
Friction is causing raised cuticles to hook together at the neck.
Detangle & Seal: Use a wide-tooth comb with a silicone-based serum to create "slip" and reduce friction.
2. The "Crunchy" Texture Product buildup or hard water minerals have coated the hair shaft.
The Reset Wash: Use a clarifying shampoo followed by a 20-minute deep condition to strip the gunk and reset the pH.
3. The "Ashy" Dullness The hair is porous and can't hold onto moisture, making it look gray/dry. L.O.C. Method: Apply Liquid (water), Oil (to seal), and Cream (to define) while the hair is soaking wet.
