Really cool session tonight in Studio B with Macy and the Glass Band. I think they have the record for most lamps used in one night!

Today’s adventure began with re-amping a lap steel guitar part. It’s always fun getting to play around with pedals and stuff.
BTW - I absolutely love the Radial Re-amper. There are certainly ways to do it without, but the ease of use is worth the purchase.
And for the nerds cringing out there, all the important parts of the Behringer direct box have been replaced with high quality components. :)

Happy St Patrick’s Day! I don’t have a lot of Irish in my family history. But the small part of me that is Irish is absolutely salivating over this corned beef.
For more than 2 decades now we have a tradition of slow-cooked corned beef and cabbage, some of the best Irish ale and whiskey (ignore the Boddingtons), and viewing of one of my favorite films of all time, Waking Ned Devine (1998).
One of my favorite basses… 🎸❤️ Feels like putting on an old pair of jeans when I play it.
For the 2 or 3 of you who might care - It’s a 1990 Fender Made in Japan OPB-51 (‘51 reissue) Precision bass with a Lollar pickup and re-wired to original ‘51 specs with vintage oil-in-paper capacitor and carbon composite resistor. It is fitted with bridge and pickup covers (installed by the original owner), a painted and relic’d wooden tug bar, foam under the bridge cover, and a set of Fender 9050M 55-105 Flatwound strings with the original Kelly green silks(why did they change them?). The original white pickguard was replaced with this gold anodized pickguard, donated by Flourtown Fats Jeff Michael along with these Callaham knurled knobs. And the neck has been sanded down to give it the most comfortable smooth feel and slightly lower profile.

🎂 Happy Birthday, Ryan! 🎂
I love this photo, taken yesterday while working together in the studio. It makes me think, not only of all the many ways in which you’ve been such an invaluable ally in this wonderful and complicated music industry in which we choose to work, but also in the ways you’ve elevated my personal “enjoyment of music”. You’ve helped me find new joys in music in ways I never have before. Thank you for challenging me, and I sincerely wish you the happiest of birthdays.
