ICYMI! I released a standalone single on Friday called “Follow My Breath” that I wrote in 30 minutes for the songwriting challenge @youhaveuntillunch , curated by my dear friend @phoneswithchords . Very unusual for me to move that quickly, but I was pleasantly surprised with its emotional directness and how it evolved into this recorded version.
This is not part of the follow-up record to “All The Nothing I Know” that I’ve been working on verrrry slowly, though I’m pleased to report that a planet is starting to form around the things I’ve been collecting over the past few years. I’m writing about incarnation, the strangeness and beauty of having a body, tinnitus, the horror and the gift of mortality, weird health stuff, dissociation and the present, second naiveté, angels that deliver painkillers, and… wonder, maybe?
