Blessington Library hosted a free Activator Pole taster session yesterday with Michael from Wicklow Sports Partnership. The session was a great success and gave people a chance to try the poles, learn the correct technique, and see how they can support fitness and mobility.
Activator poles or fit sticks (as they are known as colloquially) turn a regular walk into a full body workout by engaging the arms, shoulders, back and core as well as the legs. They can help improve balance, posture, strength and confidence while walking, and are suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels.
The good news is that Activator poles are now available to borrow from Blessington Library, so people can continue using them in their own time.
Thanks to all our fit stick users yesterday.
