Beyond the Beach lobby, our Concierge, Baptiste, is often found exploring our little corner of the coast with his camera in hand. This week, he’s taking us deep into the untouched reaches of Clayoquot Sound. *Be certain to swipe through to the final slide for one of the most incredible sights from the air! “To truly understand the rugged beauty of our coastline, you have to see it from above. I recently took a 20-minute scenic flight out to the Hot Springs, and the perspective is life-changing. From the air, you see how the land and sea are connected in ways you just can’t appreciate from the ground. It feels like venturing into a world completely onto its own.” Why Baptiste Loves It: “It’s the transition of environments. You start with a breathtaking flight, keeping a sharp eye out for whales and marine wildlife below, and then find yourself on a 2 km boardwalk hike through the rainforest. Ending the journey in the natural geothermal pools while looking out at the Pacific is the ultimate West Coast reset.” The Insider Fact: “While the flight is a quick and stunning way to arrive, those looking for a longer adventure can opt for a boat ride. It’s a slower pace that lets you feel the swell of the ocean and offers even more time to spot our coastal neighbours, like sea otters and bald eagles.” Baptiste’s Pro-Tip: “Timing is everything. I recommend aiming for the very first trip in the morning or the last one in the late afternoon. Not only is the light better for photography, but you’ll avoid the midday crowds, often having the steaming rock pools all to yourself.” 📷 @baptistetendero

One day is never enough. So this year, give her something that lingers, a memory, a setting, a season. Something she can return to in her mind long after the moment has passed. Digital gift cards are available at the link in bio. 📷 @taylor_lundin

A new exhibition by Campbell River artist Kaylee Gelz will be featured in the Henry Nolla Gallery from May 5 through July 7. Kaylee began painting landscapes in 2022, inspired by a deep connection to the terrain of Vancouver Island and its surrounding areas. Her work reflects a view of the landscape as alive and expressive, constantly shifting, layered with personality, and shaped by a sense of story. Through expressive colour and brushwork, her paintings aim to capture both the essence and vibrancy of life on the West Coast, and the emotional atmosphere a place can evoke. Each piece invites viewers to bring their own perspective and experience into the frame. Guests are invited to experience her work in the Henry Nolla Gallery and learn more through her website (linked in bio).

They call it forest bathing - but maybe it’s something even simpler. A quiet moment where nature takes the lead, and you simply listen. Rooted in Shinrin-Yoku, a Japanese practice that translates to “forest bathing,” this mindful way of being in nature is known to lower cortisol, restore energy, boost immunity, improve mood, and deepen our connection to the world around us. No destination, no agenda, just the simple act of being present among the trees. On your next visit to the Inn, we invite you to explore our on-property Rainforest Trail and let the calm of the forest ground you, far away from the rush of daily life. 🎥 @paulmakespictures #WickInnBC #RelaisChateaux #Tofino #ChestermanBeach #YourTofino *health benefits cited from Harvard Health

Throughout May, Ilia Poichuk will be in residence as part of a live painting series in the Beach Lobby. Each Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM, guests are invited to observe her work at the easel, engage in conversation, and explore a selection of her artwork available for purchase. An awarded artist from West Coast Vision 2025 and a participant in last year’s Artists in Action series, Ilia has been a member of Tofino’s creative community for many years. Working primarily in oils, her practice focuses on capturing the essence of the West Coast experience without literal representation. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, as well as her involvement with the Tofino Arts Council and the Tofino Contemporary Art Gallery, her work reflects a deep and evolving connection to place. A stay at the Inn is more than where you sleep - it’s about the rituals that make it yours. The first sip of morning coffee by the fire, a slow walk along the shore, a game of chess in the cafe, or finding peace along the forest trails. What’s your favourite ritual once you arrive at the Inn? 🎥 @marty.clemens #WickInnBC #RelaisChateaux #Tofino #YourTofino #ExploreBC
