Dearest friends, dearest colleagues and dearest people in between. From my very personal, subjective freelance perspective, this year started so fucked and ended so nicely. thanks to everybody I worked with this year, directors, producers, crew, cast and everybody else. I joined no/agency which I am very happy about, I joined the roster of shelter productions and worked with many old and new faces! This year a lot of us are struggling, a lot of us are connecting our success in the industry (whatever this is) too much with ourselves. I certainly do. I was either stressed because I didn’t have any work or happy because I had work. It’s either or, not really something in the middle. I never felt it as much as this year. So this is a reminder for everybody that is in the “fuck I have no work, fuck my life mode”, it will go away, and there will be very nice projects. A lot of you reminded me this year when I was struggling, please do again as soon as I am in the “what the fuck am I doing” phase. Let’s fucking go - to 2025 Foto - @climatejustus

Eight years ago I started studying Cinematography at the Film University in Babelsberg (Sorry Konrad). Finishing my Master's, looking back at all the people I met, worked with and sometimes suffered a bit as well, looking back at all the projects I shot, it couldn’t have turned out better. I am so happy to be able to shot so many different projects. Learning from my fellow students and tutors, sharing thoughts, problems, techniques and solutions. I love preparing a Project and then finally looking through the viewfinder seeing it the first time when all comes together. The preparation can be rough, the shot always is, it can be very demanding in every aspect of life, but as soon as I start filming, I know this is where I belong, this is where I want to be. This is what I need to express myself, to really see something. Diving into these often complete different worlds from project to project, feelings, needs and emotions. Thanks to everybody I studied with, for taking this massive step together with me, closer to do what we love to do as a living.
