Delayed doesn’t mean denied — and it definitely doesn’t mean it’s over. Sometimes God “yes,” Is yes , but that “yes” doesn’t always come right away or in the moment we expect it. This has been one of my most delayed projects… a line I created almost two years ago. But I refuse to let my need for control turn into self-doubt. My trip to Japan wasn’t just a birthday celebration — the 25th marked 5 years since I became a designer. I announced @kenshuifashion Kenshui on my birthday in 2020, and returning to that moment reminded me why I started. I needed to get re-inspired, refocused, and reconnected with my purpose. The journey has taught me so much through trial, error, and meeting so many incredible creatives along the way. And what keeps me grounded is knowing that I come from the foster care community. Kenshui was born to bring awareness, empowerment, and real change to the lives of young adolescents and adults who come from where I come from.
