Rescue crews were called into action to help a man injured after a fight on an island in Lancaster County on Thursday.
Dispatchers confirmed the call came in around 11:42 a.m. for an injured person on an island, south of the Holtwood Dam in Martic Township.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command was called to the scene to hoist a patient who had reportedly been assaulted on Piney Island and could not be rescued by boat or by land.
One person was rescued after getting injured on a Susquehanna River island in Lancaster County.

Plans are in the works to revitalize downtown Harrisburg, and there is one city that leaders are hoping to copy: Pittsburgh.
The CBS 21 Investigates has been taking a closer look at how capital city leaders are spending $400,000 to come up with the plans to bring back Harrisburg's downtown.
When that money was granted to the Harrisburg Regional Chamber, Senator Patty Kim pointed to the success in the steel city.
"We've seen firsthand in Pittsburgh how true collaboration and unified planning can lead to transformative investments," said Senator Kim back in March.

Dauphin County Commissioner Justin Douglas, a Democrat running for Congress in Pennsylvania's 10th District, said he was threatened by a person at a restaurant in Hershey.
Douglas said he believes it was former Steelton Borough Council president Brian Proctor, though Proctor told Penn Live that he knows nothing of the incident.
"I signed up for a job that public scrutiny is part of it; I have people come up to me that engage me regularly, frustrated with decisions I make," Douglas said. "I think that's part of being an elected official, but it crosses a line when you threaten somebody."
