I was on the upper east side today looking for used books and this spot popped up on Google Maps. It was only when I was looking at the photos on Google that I realized this is the store they used exterior shots for Joe Goldberg’s bookstore in @younetflix . I also only realized upon arriving that it’s a Christian bookstore. Kind of ironic, no?

I went to a screening of OVER YOUR DEAD BODY recently that included a q&a with director Jorma Taccone after and it was awesome! I was fully expecting Taccone to be a Finnish dude, but he was actually Booth Jonathan from Girls! As for the movie, I loved it! Samara Weaving was amazing, as always, and Jason Segel was really funny too. He’s not someone I ever expected to see in a horror movie. And Timothy Olyphant? What a great to see him on screen in a horror movie again. This movie was chaos from start to finish and it’s a good time if you’re looking for something… lighter to watch.

Tonight I went to an event for the Horror Studies at the University of Pittsburgh and it was so fun! We schmoozed for an hour and then listened to a panel with the founder of the Horror Studies Center, Adam Lowenstein, filmmaker Tina Romero, and Dr. Greg Siegle, who also directs the Program in Cognitive Affective Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh and it was so interesting! I also got to see a lot of friends, which is always the because horror people are the best. I’m excited to see where the program goes, and can they make a one week summer program for adults to come hang out and study horror?! Thanks in advance! 😂
