Happy National Pizza Party Day!
We may not have a pizza party on the final day of the Whoopensocker residency, but we definitely bring the Pizza Party Energy!
Our time together in the classroom wraps up with everyone’s favorite Whoopensocker games and a celebratory sharing session where students choose to read, act out, or cast their classmates in their own stories.
Grab a slice of pizza (or bust out your Pizza Party Energy) on this joyous holiday!

Take a Chance Day!
In the Whoopensocker classroom, we encourage students to take risks and try something new, whether that’s practicing writing hard words, joining a warm-up activity, or sharing a story in front of their peers.
Scaffolding risk-taking, an idea coined by Whoopensocker Mayor, Erica, lies at the heart of what we do. It means creating supports for students to take risks with their ideas. For example, a call-and-response warm-up allows everyone to participate without the pressure to create something original. For Erica, risk taking is an essential feature of teaching and learning!
What’s something new you will try today?

TAKE YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY? OR MAKE YOU CHILD WORK DAY?
Enjoy "The Costco Baby" written in 2025 by Latif, Ibtihel, Ethan, Natalie at GGlenn Stephens Elementary School
One day a baby named Costco was advertising for Costco. The baby is hungry and sees some watermelon in a Tesla tire. The baby crawls into the tire and gets trapped. The baby cries out with the only two words she knows, "Costco Pizza!!!" Michael, the Costco pizza man brings a pizza to the baby and leaves. The baby cries out again, "Costco pizza." This time, customers come and ask for pizza. So, the baby shares it with them and gets rescued.
The End.
