You have to be fairly quick when you’re working with hot hide glue. Heating up the parts gives you a little more open time, so anything to get a few seconds is worth the effort. On a sidenote, someone asked me the other day if I was sponsored by @totalvise and the answer was no. So when I sing their praises i’m doing it because I love the thing and how much easier it makes doing my job. I also really like the hold downs from @whittlesticks.strings that are holding the guitar body in place. If you do this for a living you owe it to yourself to check them out…

Scanner quality is going up while prices are coming down, putting this technology within reach of more shops. On the Loothgroup we’ve seen the incredible possibilities that 3D scanning opens up, and I’m looking forward to exploring the Creality Raptor with Luke Heaton @whittlesticks.strings on this episode.
Luke will do a live scan of a guitar bridge in real time so we can see exactly how the process works, then we’ll dig into strategies for editing and working with scan data in building and repair contexts.
