he’s a gem ❤️
We celebrate 6 years of marriage last week and while this video comes off as meaning to be funny, there’s a lot of truth to it. So much has happened in that short amount of time. I’m forever grateful that he’s always loved and supported me throughout all my seasons, including that plant obsession that turned out not to be just a Covid phase.
My hot take on low light: plants may survive for a while in those conditions, but they won’t thrive.
The challenge for those collecting plants is them figuring out how much light your plants DO need.
In my digital guide, I break down the main pillars of plant care to set you up for success. Comment “link” if you want to check it out ☺️
Plants for the Planet! 🌍
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than with plants and plant-based goods?

How will you celebrate the planet today?

3 months of growth in 8 seconds 💚 this is why I love begonias. They grow like weeds! If they’re looking sad, I’ll propagate them, give them a little extra humidity, and they come right back!
Do you have a plant that’s in need of a good chop?
When I first started collecting plants, I thought overwatering a plant meant giving it too much water at one time. So I would just wet the surface. I didn’t realize it’s actually GOOD to thoroughly drench the soil when you water.
Then someone told me overwatering actually means your plant can’t USE the water you gave it fast enough so the roots basically suffocate. This can happen if the soil mix isn’t draining well, it’s not getting enough light, or you’re watering without checking if your plant is actually thirsty.
After five years of learning about houseplants, I compiled all the things I wish someone told me when I started into a simple, straightforward digital guide available for purchase. Comment “learn” for the link! 🥰
In honor of Earth Month, this is one of my favorite planty upcycle hacks! The soldering iron was $6 from Walmart and now I have a ton of nursery pots for my cuttings! also why is the @chobani container actually adorable?
(ps. I try to use it quickly before the iron gets very hot so there aren’t any fumes.)
1) When taking stem cuttings, each one needs a node for roots to grow. This is where the leaf meets the stem, so cut in between those. Many plants have little bumps near the node where aerial roots can grow.
2) You only want to keep a few leaves on each cutting so it can prioritize growing roots rather than supporting leaves.
3) I always add my liquid fertilizer from @happyhappyhouseplant to the water to provide nutrients. I wouldn’t say it’s required for them to grow but it really helps! Comment “fertilizer” for my discount code!
