When i write songs i really do wonder if i should be honest or aspirational. They say you should be impeccable with your word and not talk bad about yourself and stuff on one hand. Then on the other hand there's honesty, and story telling about the truth. I think with songs like this im just being honest about how i feel and hoping it doesn't negatively impact me to do so i guess. Also i don't think trash is a bad thing. It's like when i was in high school and middle school my squad called each other "dirt kids" and it was endearing and we only truly respected our fellow dirt kids. I think there's an underdog unity that I've always had and i believe that's actually what i mean when i say trash forever. I tried to run away from who I am for a while when i moved to Philly, but honestly I'm South Jersey trash and proud and lots of the people who i love the most are also some version of trash so i stopped giving a shit. "Precious stones from old coal" lol
