With the help of Professor Kelly Goff, @rsl.wheatonma and @interfaith_house brought back the maypole for this year’s May Day festivities. 🌼
The earliest recorded May Day celebration at Wheaton dates back to 1889, during the Seminary years. Inspired by medieval traditions welcoming the arrival of spring, students danced around the maypole and took part in festivities across campus.
