Many people don’t know how to squat well. It’s one of the lifts that is easy for people to just half ass and figure they can’t get range of motion. Not true unpopular opinion but learning how to use your quads is fundamental to the movement.

Strength and movement go hand in hand. If you’re strong and don’t move well you got some weak links that need to be worked on especially with ROM. If you’re a good mover and weak you may be able to express positions well but you won’t be able to express strength effectively.

When it comes to power development and intent nothing compares to cleans. Not because it’s special but because if you don’t create drive with heavy enough weight you wont complete the lift. That matches with the fact that you don’t need much equipment is my bias towards using these in gym.
