The third annual Whaleathon is in the books. Yesterday, 23 runners completed the full marathon distance( 630 laps) around the whale, while many more joined in to run together around this mystical statue. @ry.pratt set a new record with a staggering 100 kilometers. It was a perfect mix of absurdity, grit, and community.
Missed out? You can still complete your own Whaleathon: just send us your details to be added to the site. Thanks to everyone who helped make this strange little tradition grow. See you next year!
Whaleathon
October 25, 2025 - 7am
Not a race. No entry fee. Just 630 laps around a whale statue.
Join us Oct 25th to run 26.2 miles around a whale. Those who complete this absurd challenge will be immortalized on Whaleathon.com and score a piece of limited-edition merch*
This is a completely unsanctioned event, so don’t be a jerk. Respect the neighborhood, watch for cars, and bring your own food and water. The course is a roundabout. There are no bathrooms. None.
We’ll suggest starting at 7am, but you can roll in whenever and run however far you feel like.
*Limited quantity. First come, first served.
