Western Research Day (WRD) once again brought students, faculty, and community members for a campus-wide showcase of research, creativity, and academic achievement across every discipline. The day’s program included opening remarks, a keynote address, student presentations, and an awards ceremony recognizing standout projects.
This year’s keynote speaker was Dr, Rebecca Stearns of the Korey Stringer Institute, who shared insights from her extensive work in sports safety. Her presentation covered emerging findings on exertional heat stroke (EHS).
For more than a decade, Western Research Day has served as one of WestConn’s signature academic traditions. Students selected to participate share work developed under faculty mentorship, gaining experience in a professional, conference-style environment.
Remember to pick up your regalia and other commencement needs at Westside! Don’t forget to take a free diploma frame, courtesy of SGA. Open from now until 7 pm.

One four-letter word is about to rock 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When the President unwittingly spins a PR nightmare into a global crisis, the seven brilliant and beleaguered women he relies upon most risk life, liberty, and the pursuit of sanity to keep the commander-in-chief out of trouble. This uproarious play is a riotous comedy about the women in charge of the man in charge of the free world.
