If you know how stubborn I am, then you know it took a lot for me to TRUELY believe that God was illuminating a completely new path for me. Trust me, $50K was actually cheap for the lessons I needed to learn.
Especially a young WesHype who thought he knew it all… compared to a 15 years older version, who preaches how much more there is to learn (funny how that works).

I’m gonna clear up all inquiries with this one statement… I’ve done a lot of introspection in regard to the things that have been said about myself and some of the people I love. Even is with these video despite lending my brand, my voice, and my influence to JFL I was never paid anything on a $7000 bill. I’ve NEVER spoken about that publicly. The company went “bankrupt” even though their intellectual property is still making money to this very day and their touring business (apparently a separate company) is still thriving. I say all that to say we have all been the villain in somebody’s story. There is a backstory to EVERYTHING and as a self-made entrepreneur the lines between business and personal are constantly blurred.
Wherever you decide to spend your Mother’s Day I hope you enjoy yourself. There are fantastic comedic events in the city next weekend. I honestly and whole heartedly want to see people that look like me, come from where I come from, and work as hard as I work, WIN. I have a lot of respect for 99% of the people that I’ve worked with. As someone who is not a comedian but in the business of comedy I’ve been embraced and supported by so many in this industry. Also, I would literally put my life on the line for my community because of what they do for me. I live for the moments after shows, in emails, and in DM‘s, where people express how much the things that we’ve done while working at 4 AM or going multiple days without sleeping has positively impacted their lives. At the end of the day COMEDY WINS. Representation wins. The Caribbean diaspora wins. And I’m here for it.
