🏏 Hawkey Cup Result 🏏
The 1st XI got their Hawkey Cup campaign off with a win at home to a resilient Roche CC side. Losing the toss and fielding first, we bowled our visitors out off the final ball for 120, Ben Smeeth taking 2-13, and Thulina Dilshan 2-25. We then chased the score for the loss of 7 wickets- Adam Hodgson carrying his bat for 60 not out, hitting the final ball of the innings for the winning boundary.
We visit Wadebridge CC 2nds on Wednesday 20th May in our final group game.

Our U15s had a convincing win over @callington_cricket_club in the U15s cup last night.
50s for Henry Howson and Henry Paynter. Wickets shared around.

🏏 Weekend Results 🏏
1️⃣ from 4️⃣ for the Senior sides on Saturday.
The 1st XI won away at Redruth by 110 runs. Posting 243-9, behind Mark Gribbles 74 and Thulina Dilshans 35, before some late hitting from skipper Nick Lawson (35*). Ben Smeeth then took 3-22, with 2 wickets each for Mark Taskis, Adam Hodgson and Sam Hockin as the hosts were dismissed for 133.
The 2nd XI lost at home to Lanhydrock CC by 7 wickets. Batting first and scoring 158-8, with Dan Jenkin making 45 and Ed Walters 28. Ian Searle then took 2-31 as the visitors eased past the total after 27 overs.
The 3rd XI lost a thriller on the Ladycross bottom pitch as St Neot CC made an imposing score of 255-6. Young George Petherick taking 3-45, before Dan Warring made a magnificent 105, and Sam Uglow 40* in the run chase as we fell just short by 9 runs.
The 4th XI lost on their travels to St Stephen CC 2nds by 61 runs. Emma Horrell and Tilly Paynter did the damage with the ball, picking up 5 of the 6 wickets to fall, with Tilly coming close to completing a hat-trick! Gareth Cox then made a blistering 72 not out as our innings closed on 175-6.
We go again on Saturday.

What a night. Well over 100 boys, girls and ladies playing cricket in the sun. Parents enjoying the frivolities, the cider was flowing and the pizzas were flying out the door!

The 1st XI had Grampound Road CC 44-3 from 13 overs before rain set in for the day, Dan Barnard, Ben Smeeth and Sam Hockin taking a wicket each.
The 2nd XI only managed 7 overs before shaking hands, bowling first at Menheniot-Looe CC, they had the hosts 29-1, with skipper Jason Seldon taking the sole wicket.
The 3rd XI were batting first at St Stephen CC and got up to 89-4 from 22 overs, chairman Adam Paynter (35*) and Dan Warring (15*) the men at the crease when the game was abandoned.
The 4th XI batting first at home to St Neot CC 2nds were 92-3 from 26 overs, skipper Ian Wills made 33, and young gun Will Conway 30 before the weather set in.
We go again next Saturday.
