This is a vulnerable share : I wore a T-shirt that said “ Immigrants aren’t criminals, but the president is” and got told it was too offensive for the Labor Day BBQ. I’m still in disbelief. And I know it’s not just me that this is happening to. So many of us are standing up for what we believe in and getting pushed out by family who refuse to see what is really happening I will not go Numb. And yet, I still love them. How do I navigate being around my family, when something as simple as a T-shirt offends them? I am heartbroken.
