Heading into week 2 of rehearsals for Taliesin!
So SO grateful to be back here making this show, improving my puppetry skills to share this amazing Welsh story with young people, with access built in from the outset.
Also thrilled to be working with some amazing sound designers, makers, puppeteers and access consultants to make the show even better than before (the puppets have had a GLOW UP since last time)
And as always I’m thrilled to be working with @martha_j_baldwin until we are like two peas in a pod 🫛
Thank you @aceagrams for the funding and @z.artsmcr for the in kind support!
It was a while ago now, but @warnmcr Social Experiment was AMAZING! 🤩
It was great to see such a wide range of queer artists making work in the city, hosted in @contactmcr
Thanks for everyone who came out!
“A celebration of life, love, and the enduring power of memory.”
Thanks to all who came to see The Last Word. Despite the weather, we carried on indoors and made a little garden together in the Carlton Club.
Thanks to our photographer, Ryan @ryan.m.photo and to @canalstreetmedia for a lovely review (check my bio for the full article)!
Thanks to @arisha.jm , who was the glue who held me together for about a week straight. Thanks for championing my ideas, fighting my corner, and buying me apples when I forget to eat.
Thanks to everyone who came, who shared their limerick ideas, got up and danced, and made origami flowers. Your support means the world to me.
This is not the last time we’ll be performing The Last Word- keep your eyes peeled 👀
✨ Taliesin Performance & Puppet Workshop ✨
🪄On Saturday 25 April, we welcomed 80 people to Manchester Central Library for a magical afternoon of storytelling, completely free.
🏴Taliesin was a fantastical, heart‑warming retelling of a classic Welsh myth, filled with magic, shape‑shifting, puppetry and an epic chase. Using Welsh mythology and beautifully crafted puppets, the performance brought this timeless story to life for children aged 5+ and their families.
👨🎨The afternoon ended with a hands‑on Puppet Making Workshop, where young creatives had the chance to make their own puppets and continue the storytelling themselves.
✨️A truly enchanting experience that celebrated imagination, theatre and shared stories in the heart of the library.

That’s a wrap on YDF 2026!
I had an awesome day connecting with lots of multidisciplinary creatives, hearing about their practice and the future of @wearepeshkar
That’s a wrap on The Underground Elixir, which is now available to listen to on all streaming platforms 👂
It’s the end of my time on this Peshkar, but I’m excited to see what the future holds…

This work is the making of me.
Under no circumstances can AI make art in the way a human can. The labour is THE POINT. The craft is the time you put in. The process is the best bit, and it’s not skippable. All of your experiences collide together to make the crucible of your creativity, which is impossible to replicate with a machine. AI doesn’t have a subconscious, it doesn’t dream, it doesn’t yearn or laugh or want to please. And I won’t let you take this from me, this creativity that humanises me, that has helped me empathise and love and grieve.
In no uncertain terms, F*CK AI art.

Once again doing 3 months of posting in about 3 hours
I had such a gorgeous time with @global_grooves getting to grips with their giant puppets (Sophia was my absolute favourite 🇺🇦)
Thank you so much for the training and the opportunity

Editing time!
It’s been amazing editing together the audio drama!
Editing is such a curious process. Some long scenes can take no time at all to edit, and some short scenes can take a while. This is a great example- what amounts to a few lines of dialogue actually has a tonne of incredible stage directions which have to be painstakingly added as individual sound effects.
I’m really excited for you to hear the whole thing!

What goes into making an audio drama?
I have been working with some fantastic young people from @the_proud_trust who have been hard at work making an amazing fantasy audio drama.
We started off by playing games like The Ground Itself (@everestpipkin )to create the world of the show. We researched different types of audio drama, and had a look (and listen!) to some of Ellie’s favourites (@camlannpod gets a special mention here!)
We used some more TTRPG style games to come up with characters and the connections between them, and had fun improv-ing to get a sense of the world!
Once we felt comfortable with the format of audio drama, we started writing! Of course, writing dialogue isn’t for everyone- for some folks, it felt more natural to storyboard the action to work out what was happening and what sounds would be in a scene.
Stay tuned for what happens next…
