Have you ever seen a live tuna cutting show before? 🐟 I got to witness one at the grand opening of @iki.dining in Potts Point, where Chef @wellstonefish prepared a massive 47kg tuna right in front of us—and it was such an unforgettable experience.
This new ramen & izakaya spot truly impressed me. The salmon nori crisp instantly became my favourite bite, the sashimi was so fresh (especially the tuna 🍣), and of course I couldn’t leave without trying their ramen—the broth is full of rich umami flavours. To finish off, the sweet potato brûlée is an absolute must-try. ✨
Definitely one to save for your next foodie adventure in Sydney. 🍜

Sydney’s newest ramen izakaya is just the start of an epic foodie adventure where you get to be steeped into mini Japan 🇯🇵
🍜 Crab Ramen — thick, rich, and packed with umami, with half a crab sunk in the bowl
🐙 Octopus Takoyaki — crispy outside, soft inside, big octopus pieces
🥩 Wagyu Tataki — melt-in-your-mouth tender with great seasoning
🦆 Crispy Aged Duck — golden, perfectly seasoned, bursting with flavour
🍠 Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée — comforting and indulgent, where warm meets cold in the best way
🍹 Nigori Colada — smooth and creamy with a hint of pineapple
🥃 Oolong Teatail — tangy with oolong tea flavor, finishing bold and strong

Sushi so fresh, it’s un-IKI-lievable!
I went to their grand opening in Potts Point and tried almost everything on the menu. There was even a tuna-cutting show — super entertaining — and an auction for the best tuna parts! Overall, some of the dishes were outstanding, and I highly recommend their unique desserts.
🐟 Salmon Nori Crisp ★ ($18): sashimi paired perfectly with nori crisp, perfect texture and flavour combo
🍗 Koji Chicken Karaage ★ ($15): golden and crispy
🥩 Wagyu Beef Tataki ★ ($22): seared perfectly with a crispy top
🦆 Crispy Aged Duck ($38): tender, but I would’ve liked a stronger sauce
🐟 Saikyo Miso Salmon ($32): dish we got was actually white fish, but loved the miso sauce
🥩 Wagyu Aburi Steak ★ ($42): melt-in-your-mouth tender with addictive truffle sauce
🌿 Shibumi Shiso Crudo ($33): my least favourite; didn’t like the sauce which overpowered the fresh sashimi
🦪 Seasonal Fresh Oysters ★ ($18 for 3): so fresh with ponzu
🍣 IKI Sushi Roll ($28): super unique, but I found it too much veggies and rice for the fish
🍜🦞 Kaisen Bisque Lobster Ramen ($58): super thick and indulgent, but lobster didn’t taste very fresh
🍡 IKI Mochi Parfait ($16): comes with two types of mochi
🍨 Hojicha Ice Cream ($12): strong and authentic roasted flavour
🍠 Sweet Potato Brûlée ★ ($15): crème brûlée with sweet potato, ice cream, and Biscoff crumbs was such a good combo
🥂 Nigori Colada ($22): really sweet cocktail, but wasn’t mixed well so the end was quite strong
